Our Robot (2022-23)
This is where you'll see the progress on our robot. (newest posts are always on top of this page)
ANNOUNCEMENT
We are proud to announce that High Velocity Robotics is going to state! We thank all that have been following our journey so far and we will be making another video to show off the final design.
Our Final Design Before Districts (2/9/23)
We have made our final design before districts. We have added a new 3d-printed spool for our linear slide. Besides that, the design is pretty much the same. We also have our engineering portfolio available to look at online. The last thing we have to show is our control award submission video attached. We hope to have a great time at districts!
Meet 3 Pendleton (1/18/23)
This meet was a disaster for us! Our linear slide would bind every match! We were never able to get it to work for a full match without an issue. There's not really much else to say except we will be working on this before districts! (Also due to technical difficulties we only got 3 of the 5 matches recorded) You can watch all the matches for the meet here.
Robot Update (1/17/23)
Over the last few days, we have been messing around with how we can get our linear slide to go faster. This has been a challenge we have been fighting for over two weeks. But finally, today is the day! It's fixed! Our linear slide is now way faster. We also added an extra piece to the top that isn't attached to the string but is attached to our actual grabber so it doesn't have to slide on its own. Our next competition in Pendleton is thus week so stau tuned for that.
Prototype Update (12/21/22)
An update on our robot showcasing our new additions such as encoders, double servos, and wire support.
Meet 2 Pendleton (12/7/22)
This meet went very well just like the last one! We got 139 points in one of our matches! At the time this meet happened that was the 6th highest in the state of Oregon! Our robot did have some issues mainly with the autonomous and linear slide but we got those fixed in the meet so the last match was very good. You can watch our matches in the embedded video or watch the entire meet with all the matches here. We will also be releasing an update on the progress of our robot very soon.
Video Update (11/30/22)
Our November robot reel is out! We showcase our grabber, slide, and Camera autonomous!
Meet 1 Pendleton (11/16/22)
The meet went very well! We won ⅘ matches at meet 1. Our highest score was 98 points! We got this score when we were allianced with Pilot Rock (Team 22488). Our robot had no hardware failure. It was a great night overall. We did film most of the matches but some of the film got corrupted so we only have 2 of the matches we played available to watch. The video embedded is our 2 matches only. If you would like to see the whole meet you can view it here.
Prototype Update (11/10/22)
After meet 0 we decided we should design a new grabber. We custom-designed some pieces in Sketch Up and then 3d printed them. We added foam to them allowing for extra grip. These proved to not work very well so we added rubber bands that create tension in order to hold the cone. It works well enough. We also have upgraded our autonomous and can now detect the signal sleeve and get 20 points per autonomous. Reese our coder figured this code out and made a tutorial on how to make it work using Android Studio. You can find it here if you are interested. Our next update will be after meet 1 in Pendleton.
Meet 0 Pendleton (10/26/22)
Today is our first meet of the season in Pendleton, Oregon! We unfortunately didn't get any video of the robot in action but we did get a photo. We also added a counter weight before the meet to allow more control of our robot and not have it flip over. It was a practice meet so we didn't score very high and neither did any of the other teams. Overall it was a good night though.
Prototype Update (10/25/22)
We have made some adjustments to the recognition to cone designs and patterns we have also replace the spool for a bigger one for faster movement and we have started to test drive again.
Prototype Update (10/11/22)
It's Alive! Today we finished the linear slide! After some quick coding, it worked! We tested it but we found out it was slow and it wasn't going to be competitive enough to compete against other teams. We are currently thinking of solutions to make it faster. By the next update, we should have a solution to this issue. We also 3d printed our team beacon today. It's 4in X 4in and it works like a charm.
Prototype Update (10/6/22)
Over the last 2 weeks we have made updates to our robot. We have a Rev Robotics linear slide system that will make scoring points on the high pole easier than ever. Our chassis is the same but we have added zip ties for cable management.
Prototype Update
We have made enhancements towards the prototype such as adjustments on motors,And a new addition THE CLAW!
Prototype
As of right now, we have a chassis, A working control system as well with the progress of a claw.
